Our Program
The Detroit Dance Center Youth Dance Program is open to students ages 8-17 interested in learning the fundamentals of ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, contemporary, modern, and acrobatic arts and experience classical dance training. Detroit Dance Center® is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATER® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Pre-Primary through Level 3 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Linda Hendricks, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. DDC also utilizes the Lester Horton Techique, The Acrobatic Arts curriculum, and the Al Gilbert Tap technique. No prior dance experience is necessary. DDC will evaluate each student as needed to reflect their current abilities. To learn more about class offerrings, click below.
